Full of fragrance from your choice of spices, this easy rice dish makes your mouth water from the moment the cover is off.
Watch this video to see how I do it
Or you can read it
It all starts with
2 cups rice
1/2 tsp Cumin
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1 tsp Baharet
And this is how it gets done
Heat olive oil in the pot over medium heat.
Add the rice and stir for 2 min until all the grains are thoroughly covered in oil.
Add all the spices – cumin, Baharat, nutmeg, salt and pepper, and stir for 2 more min.
Add 2 cups of boiling water and stir until all the spices are evenly mixed.
Bring to a boil over high heat.
As soon as the water is boiling, lower the heat to a simmer and cover.
After 30 min, turn the heat off and keep the pot covered for at least 10 more min. I know you're anxious to see your handy work, but avoid the urge to lift the cover, trust me, it's going to taste better this way :)
I like to serve it with something that has a savory sauce, and yes, even your salad dressing can do.
